
What is MyTempNumber?
MyTempNumber is a service that will increase your revenues while protecting your customers’ privacy and telephone numbers. With MyTempNumber, your customers have access to temporary phone numbers in areas convenient to them. Incoming calls to your customers’ temporary numbers are forwarded to phone numbers selected by the customer (e.g., cell, home or office phones). MyTempNumber enables customers to keep their personal telephone numbers private, and avoid unwanted follow up calls upon the expiration of the temporary number. MyTempNumber is perfect for any scenario in which an individual does not want his/her phone number circulated to strangers. For example, people can use MyTempNumber when selling goods in the classified ads in newspapers and online auction-houses, or when selling their home without a broker. It is also a great alternative to giving out personal phone numbers when meeting new people and using online dating and personal services.
What is included in the MyTempNumber Basic plan?
The MyTempNumber Basic plan provides your customers with a temporary number in an area code convenient to them. Customer account enrollment is made simple with a user-friendly administration web interface. Once you have assigned a temporary number, your customers can specify where they would like to have all incoming calls to this number forwarded (e.g., their cell or home phone). With the MyTempNumber Basic plan, your customers can also change the phone number that calls are forwarded to at their convenience (e.g., from their cell phone to their home phone) through a customer-facing web interface.
What is included in the MyTempNumber Premium plan?
The MyTempNumber Premium plan includes a range of features for your customers (your customers must have access to the Internet to manipulate these features). In addition to the Basic plan functionality, these features enhance the customer's ability to control and access incoming calls.
Here are some key features included in the Premium plan:
* Call Blocking: Block calls from anonymous callers and unknown private numbers.
* Do Not Disturb: Send all incoming calls directly to voicemail.
* Call Censor: Specify calls made from specific phone numbers to be rejected.
* Smart Caller ID: Identify when an incoming call is dialing your temporary number or your personal phone number.
* Find Me Follow Me: Forward your calls to as many as three other phone numbers. Find Me Follow Me will call the designated phone numbers in the order that you choose, or simultaneously, trying to “find” you.
* Privacy List: Schedule "private time" when you only want to receive calls from a designated list of phone numbers. All other calls are sent directly to voicemail.
* Voicemail: Enable or disable a customized voice message that you record, for incoming callers to your number. Voicemail is accessible via phone and web (email coming soon!).
Who sets account features – me or my customer?
Either you or your customer can set MyTempNumber Basic or Premium plan features, however, to sign up a customer for the Premium plan, your customer must provide an email address and have access to the Internet. Premium plan users will be issued a username and password to give them access to a web interface through which they can take full advantage of Premium plan features, including accessing voicemail messages.
How long do my customers have access to temporary numbers?
Upon activation, temporary numbers will remain assigned to you for use by your customers for 30 days. Upon customer sign-up, however, you may schedule temporary numbers to be automatically cancelled prior to the end of the 30 days (i.e., 7, 14, 30 or “Other” days), giving you the opportunity to offer renewal opportunities to your customers. After cancellation, your customers will have 10 days within which to renew this temporary number.
